Smoke Sword (knight type special move) : 80 damage, precision 70%, PP 15 : Opponent accuracy-1 + 40% chance of burning the opponent if successful.
Play Dead (poison type status move) : PP 5 : The user becomes immume to normal type moves and takes less damage from super effective moves for the next 5 turns.

This pokémon acting has greatly improved. It can now imitate very big and deadly pokémons. It imitates the local most dangerous species to keep threats away. This can sometimes lead to a tragic meeting with that exact species.
In that case, playing dead still proves useful as it can even fake rigor mortis.
However, this pokémon would rather scare the opponent away.
Using its poisonous gaz, Smokedian can blurr the opponent's vision. Confused by this sudden loss of its sense, the victim is now more impressionable. The shape that Smokedian's shadow takes seems truer than reality.
Smokedians learn a new trick around this age. their learn how to use their tail's flame and their smokescreen to create a shadow show. This allows them to scare even the bravest pokémons.
Smokedians live in groups. They can combine their skills to make the most dangerous pokémon run away.
As they live in group, they like to put on a show together. Throwing and catching fire balls, climbing on each other's backs, getting into crazy antics.
Many trainers would like to have one for they are pretty funny.
However, they would need to get used to their body odor.
Also, only the bravest trainers can get close them without getting scared, and only the most skilled can throw their pokéballs at them, after getting poisoned.
And even then, they are a protected species which only Pr Willow can deliver.

Its evolution is awesome, both in lore, personality and design. It's just a logical but very creative twist making this a solid evolution. Never a big fan of the middle stages, but I like this one. It's a true anime pokémon that has a well-placed evolution which works well in a story
